Hindus Claim the “Cultural Appropriation” of Yoga by Christians

The article, “Christian Yoga: Why Dharma IP Law is Essential,” by an orthodox Hindu, continues the lament that the West has hijacked yoga into a form of pseudo Yoga. The author states: “Notwithstanding the increasing appropriation and digestion of Dharmic culture, there is a growing trend in the West to appropriate yoga by plagiarising and mutilating yoga to suit Christian agenda.” Unfortunately, most Christians in the West have little understanding of Hinduism and little understanding of the nature of the idolatry in these Eastern practices.
